This beautiful wedding took place under a huge sculpture at The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego. Surrounded by art, the pair opted for orange, green, and butterfly-infused decor.

A month ago, I wasn't sure this party was going to happen, but thanks to Kelli from Shindig Events Please oh please, come with me as I relive the evening via the amazing photos captured by Jonas Seaman These two celebrated their love of lit with book centerpieces, comics and books table numbers, portraits from comic artists, and a giant book card box. They even made origami flowers from comic pages. But to spice things up, they had an awesome swing number for their first dance. I picked seed bombs as favors because I didn't want to give out "stuff" (i.e. junk that will just go in a landfill) but rather give something small that was enjoyable, expressed our ethos, and was delightfully biodegradable. My husband and I had a great time making these and getting dirty! They were really easy and took no time at all. I culled my quotes file and nailed down fifty-two bad-ass quotes that I adore and that I'm sharing with you now. I used most of these on our wedding favors. A few of these are old favorites of Offbeat Bride, but a lot of them I've never seen on a wedding site. So enjoy and begin compiling and culling your own metric fuckload of quotes! With the bride's long, flowing hair and the groom's epic beard, it can only be a wedding 1975. Check out this vintage snack where home-grown daisies are the decor and fashion of choice. This two-part wedding had an intimate humanist ceremony followed by amazing seafood at a local restaurant and then a cracking ceilidh for the rest of the guests the next day. Though there were some hiccups with the liquor license, this wild bunch still managed to leave some blood on the dance floor from the "dance of death!" Wild, woolly, and amazing. Would you want it any other way? So, part of the fun of events at Urban Light Studios Good times! |
