Surrounded by a technicolor wonderland house, a bride in a purple and black dress fits right in. She and her top-hatted groom had a witness-by-lottery, Pixy Stix centerpieces, and somehow overcame a major bus malfunction to rock the night away in New York.

Looking for some ceremony archway inspiration? We have seen some awesome arches, gazebo decorations, and chuppahs. Folks are spiffing up their ceremony space with all kinds of things like paper pom-poms, signs, fans, light sabers, ribbons, and some are even making their own arches. Check out some of our faves and put some bling on that archway. Boston wedding photographer Nelson Lauren is the go-to for "no stress" wedding photography. We love him as a sponsor because we know he'll never give you the high-pressure pitch, no complex pricing schemes, misleading introductory offers, or lack of experience. That's simply not his style. So, what IS his style? Get ready for chopsticks, Corgis, and a Serenity cake. These two are outdoorsy folks and decided that a ski resort was the place they wanted to make their union official at 6,872 feet. What they ended up with was an unbelievably blue sky, crisp mountain air, and amazing photos, all before the resort even opened! On my wedding profile, I got a question from one reader who asked "what type of metal did you play that the guests could tolerate all night?" The answer is, well, EVERY TYPE! You have to play all types of metal for those non-metal heads to the pros. We also used our laptop and rented the PA equipment because we could not get a DJ that would cooperate with what we wanted to be played. Here is a list of the main songs we used that night. These guys love to talk, love cooking, and love to get their drank on. So they planned a waterfront brunch with finger-licking foods and a nighttime party at a favorite bar. Their centerpieces bring a little booze into the mix too! These two are my kind of guys. I went to an all-girls school and could never understand the girls who knew exactly what dress, flowers, rings, etc. that they wanted and only just needed to find a random guy to look pretty in the pictures. I honestly had never really thought about what a wedding would like like for me. I thought I'd jot down a few pointers for those of you who, like me, don't have a scooby about this type of thing, but know that a meringue is not your cup of tea. |
