The alt-registry service with warm fuzzy feelings: Starlight Registry
Starlight Registry is a Seattle-based online cash wedding registry service. If you've been reading Offbeat Bride for a while, you're probably familiar with cash registry services — basically they're a more polite way to register for non-stuff things you need (honeymoon experiences, home down payments, medical bills, etc.) without feeling like you're doing the whole "begging for cash" thing.

Starlight Registry is also featured in our Offbeat Vendors guide!
Here are four reasons to hook up with Starlight Registry:
- Let's talk dollars: Starlight Registry is significantly cheaper than other cash registries. For example, for an average wedding, a couple will save over $200 dollars by going with StarlightRegistry.com
- Let's talk marriage equality: Starlight Registry's website is completely gender neutral, which means any type of romance can feel comfortable using their service.
- Let's talk warm and fuzzy: They are a family run business that ONLY services weddings. That way you can enjoy the exclusive focus, and quality customer service.
- Let's talk about your technophobia: It's super easy to use. It's just a few point-and-click steps to create a registry and webpage, invite your guests to view your registry, and then redeem gifts.
Oh yeah, and Starlight Registry also offers an optional free guestbook, RSVP list, unlimited photo album, and webpage, for some major one-stop shopping. It's almost like a registry/wedding website, if that's what you're in the market for.
When you're ready to find out for yourself what makes Starlight different, give 'em a shot. They're warm and fuzzy, and waiting for you.

Yay for gender neutral language but if this is a promotional point they could do with working on the photos as well. Every single one is a man and a woman (and for that matter all but one of those couples is white).
Having said that if my now-husband hadn't been so against the idea of any type of registry this is exactly what I would have wanted. We wanted to ask for a mix of specific items, vauge items (like 'a new TV') and non-items, mainly contributions towards our honeymoon.
In the end we settled for a list on our website, which apparently left a lot of guests confused because they couldn't use it to order things directly. This would have been so much easier!

Actually (I have an embarrassingly good visual memory), that lead photo used to be on the home page of that one dating site that booted its members for gaining weight and not being hot enough any more.
I understand the concept of stock photos, and I'm sure this is a lovely company and all, but it did give me the giggles.

My fiancee was comparing with depositagift and zankyou but deposit a gift's rate was over 7% and zankyou was only 2.85%. We're still investigating. Wish us luck!!!!!!!!!
