Last chance to get $35 Geek Girl Con tickets plus: guess who's moderating our panel?

Will we see you in Seattle this fall?

So remember how I mentioned that the Offbeat Empire would be doing a panel at the Geek Girl Con in Seattle this October? Our panel, "Rocking the geek niche: Nerdiness is your superpower" has been approved, and plans are underfoot to bring together the staff from Offbeat Bride, Offbeat Mama, and Offbeat Home.

Since the last time we've talked, there have been some exciting developments, including who we finally picked to moderate the Offbeat Empire panel. If you're a wedding blog nerd, you're going to be verrrrry excited…

So first, let's review the basics:

  • Geek Girl Con happens October 8-9, 2011
  • Location: Seattle, WA
  • Our panel is at 1pm on Sunday October 9th
  • Kinds of geeky being represented at the con: sciences, science fiction, comics, gaming, and MOAR
  • We're having an Offbeat Empire party the night before the Con starts at Urban Light Studios

Latest Developments:

  • Meg from A Practical Wedding will be moderating the Offbeat Empire panel! I trust Meg to boss around the ladies of the Empire, because she rocked it when she hosted my reading in San Francisco last year, after bossing me around by insisting I simply HAD to do a reading in SF. So we can only imagine how she'll deftly crack the whip moderating the panel. Wedding blog nerds, this is going to be a meeting of the minds!
  • Schemes are developing for the Offbeat Empire party Friday October 7th, the night before the Con starts. We'll have cupcakes from Seattle's Chic Cupcake, in addition to the delicious noms from Shooby Doo. Ang is filling up our goody bags with stuff for y'all from This Charming Candy and ZOMG Smells. RSVP here!
  • Con ticket prices go up on August first, so buy your Geek Girl Con tickets now! Seriously, dudes: $35 for the entire weekend!? WTF that's insane.
