Save the dates: Philadelphia's Lovesick wedding expo is back and coming to NY in 2012!

This business paid a fee to be listed on @offbeatbride because they feel their products and services are a great fit with offbeat philosophies… and we agree. Learn more about our ads.

Hey, remember when we told y'all about the Lovesick Expo in Philadelphia and then ya'll were like, "Boo, I wish this awesome alternative wedding expo was going to be in my city." Well get this: if your city happens to be New York, you're in luck!

In 2012, Lovesick Expo is returning with a two-city tour. Next January, brides and grooms in Philadelphia, PA and Brooklyn, New York will have an opportunity to experience an oft-unseen side of wedding planning, featuring awesome alternative wedding professionals, who won't scoff at your offbeat ideas and/or try to eat your brains in attempt to turn you into one of their zombie hordes.

How do we know that Lovesick is legit and totally not one of those lame WIC fluff-infused wedding expos? Because we sent one of our own to investigate — our lovely intern Becca went to see if it really, somehow bridged the gap between "awesome" and "wedding expo." Not only did she live to tell the tale, but she had an absolute BLAST!

Here's all the whens, wheres, hows to put on your calendars now:

Saturday, January 7, 2012
The Music Hall of Williamsburg
66 North 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY 11211

Sunday, January 8, 2012
World Café Live
3025 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104

Psst: a launch party is being held to celebrate the announcement of the two-city event tonight (April 1, 2011) at Sumo Lounge in Philly. More info here.

We're talking live burlesque performances, Hi-Society DJs spinning tunes, thousands of dollars worth of giveaways, a cash bar, and an array of local talent, hand-crafted, and eco-friendly goods, appealing to independent-minded couples. You'll probably recognize most of the awesome vendors from Offbeat Bride anyway — go say hi to them! But for now SAVE THE DATE for the Lovesick Expo in your town and then have some actual fun at a wedding expo!
