An adorable living room wedding with a Doctor Who surprise

Michelle Rich 3 alternative wedding ideas from Offbeat Wed (formerly Offbeat Bride)Rich and Michelle were both pretty anti-marriage… until they met each other! When they changed their minds on the whole marriage thing, they wanted to have a low-key wedding. So they decided to do the ceremony in their living room and get married house party-style. Altared Visions Photography gave us the whole scoop…

And check out their cake — Tardis cake topper action! They cut that baby with meat cleaver. Also, I think those are little Tardis favors in the background.

  1. Where o’ where did they get those mini tardis favors! I die and must have them!

  2. Ack! I love the TARDIS favors! They make me so happy!

I wish them both a love to last throughout all of space and time!

  3. I did a Google search for “Make your own Tardis”. We printed them out, cut them out and put them together.

  4. Thanks for all the kind words!! For the other DIY brides out there, I also made my own cake, with fondant. It’s not nearly as hard one would think! Tested the cake recipe a week before, and made the cake, fondant and all, the morning of the wedding.

  5. This wedding is clearly awesome, and Michelle, you look so pretty! Can I ask where you got your cape/shawl?

    • Thanks Ashley!! I ordered the cape from a company in CT called Elegant Designs by Denise. If you Google you should find their website which has online ordering. Just about everything is half the price of what you would find at bridal shops and handmade to boot.

  6. My birthday party will be turning out to be our very pink circus-burlesque-wedding-re-do (had to catch my breath there!) for all our friends that missed our first disaster filled reception 2 years ago. I love the idea of finger foods and I think aside from our candy buffet that is exactly what I will do 🙂 Now off to indulge in some of your wedding porn! 🙂 Hopefully our photographer shows up this time….
