Hidden Oaks is also featured in our Offbeat Vendors guide!

Want a wedding venue with history? Our latest sponsor, Hidden Oaks, just five minutes south of downtown Houston, Texas, is a bed and breakfast that recently decided to change their sole focus of work to weddings and events. And they're an offbeat bride's dream as they have flexible packages and openness to include outside vendors.

Keep reading to get more info on what makes this place so special: from their offbeat discount to their charming history and even the rumors of paranormal activity…

Hidden Oaks is a beautiful, historic plantation-style home set on 1½ acres in Houston, Texas. They have years of experience with full-service weddings both of the traditional and the offbeat variety. From Pagan wedding ceremonies, to tribal belly dance-themed weddings, to traditional Chinese ceremonies, and Indian wedding ceremonies … Hidden Oaks has hosted and rocked all sorts of weddings.

Hidden Oaks is happy to host out-of-town brides as well as Houstonian ones, and has partnerships with area hotels as well as a honeymoon suite avaliable on-site, which can help keep costs down. In fact, their wedding packages start at a nicely shocking $650. Of course, they're totally willing to create a custom package to meet your budget and needs if you don't spot a wedding package that's right for you.

Then there's the whole paranormal phenomenon thing. Recently the venue was featured on the A&E show Psychic Kids, who investigated several "presences" in the homestead. We love an old-timey venue with lots of character. I mean, haunted wedding venues FTW!!

OFFBEAT DISCOUNT: Hidden Oaks would like to offer $100 off of all weddings booked from now until Feb 21, 2011.

Houstonians! History buffs! Ghost hunters! This venue beckons. Now ya'll head over to the Hidden Oaks website and book yer dern weddin', ya hear?
