S’more favors, please!

Guest post by Onyah

Onyah put together THEE perfect favors for a wedding that involves a camp fire. And it is any wonder that the Tribesmaid who brought us Peep brides would have marshmallow favors…

Our wedding will take place at a former girl scout camp, and we'll have a campfire ring with a fire going in it. So it only makes sense for us to give little s'more kits as favors. A few months ago, a coworker told me about some “gourmet” s'mores that she regularly makes when she goes camping, and we LOVED that idea and decided to provide people with the ingredients to make four different kinds…

Here's what it looks like when you open it:

Here's everything that's included:

That slip of paper identifies the four kinds of gourmet s'mores (with our silly music-nerd names):

  • Punk Rock Classic: milk chocolate and honey grahams
  • Black Tie White Noise: white chocolate and chocolate grahams
  • Cinn City: dark chocolate and cinnamon grahams
  • Rolo-in' and Tumblin': 2 Rolos and honey grahams

Here's the packaging for the ingredients:

We're going to wait until right before the wedding to assemble the rest of them, because we don't want the marshmallows or graham crackers to get stale.

So yummy!

Comments on S’more favors, please!

  1. This is way cool as it serves as a favor AND an activity all at once. Oh, and they sound yummy, too.

  2. That’s so awesome and now I want chocolate! Also, those stickers are adorable.

  3. Can I tell you, I LOVE to roast marshmallows and put them on gingersnaps. You know, for a *spicy* s’more. NOM NOM NOM

  4. OMG! We are making smores as favors too! Our wedding is on Sunday so we will be spending Friday working on them! Big ups for having it at a GS camp! Our wedding definitely has a GS/camp/outdoors vibe going on.
    And congrats!

  5. LOVE THIS IDEA! This is awesome for any outdoors-y type party. And as a former girl scout and lover of summer camp, I adore your wedding location!

Just an idea, maybe you could also buy a few vegan marshmallows for those in your group that don’t eat gelatin? Sweet & Sara makes gourmet flavored ones that are sold at Whole Foods (kinda pricey), but Dandies are my favorite– just like regular ‘mallows!

    • Hey Nelle – I am right there with you! You can’t see the type in the photos, but the text at the bottom of the paper insert says:

      “Hey, I can’t eat this!
Guests with dietary restrictions can swap out their s’more fixings. Vegetarian marshmallows, vegan chocolate, and gluten-free graham crackers are available next to the campfire ring.”

We got the Sweet & Sara marshmallows, Boom CHOCO Boom candy bars, and Smoreables crackers. I didn’t try any of them myself, but I hear they got rave reviews!

  6. i think i just fell off my chair from sheer love at these… makes me kinda want to gatecrash your wedding!! lol

  7. I’m having a summertime wedding, and just the other day I thought about doing s’mores favors. We’re not having a campfire, though, so I don’t know if it would be quite as cool. Anyone do the math on how much these would actually cost per favor? I love the idea.

    • Hey Dree — they cost us $2.18 per favor. Hit me up on OBT if you want to see how all the pricing broke down.

  8. this is a great idea… but thinking of something similar for my winter wonderland wedding probably a cup with hot coco and marshmellow maybe candycane with it?? anyone got more ideas would be great help.. anyways great yummmy idea !!!

  9. This post definitely got my creative juices going! I’m not getting married until 2012, so I’m glad I came across this post early…it encouraged me to come up with party favors that will be fun and interactive for our guests. Thanks for sharing your great idea!

  10. I love these!

Where did you get the bags and boxes? And what sizes did you use?

  11. We’ve been planning a similar idea. Loved the recipes. Can you tell me where you got the favor boxes and what size you used? Seems hard to find anything over 2X2 which is too small for smores.

  12. Awesome! A suggestion for those planning something similar: consider flavored chocolates such as raspberry or orange. To. Die. For.

  13. Love the idea. Card-carrying lifetime Girl Scout right here, and I love that you’re having it at a camp.

One thing you must try because well, you owe it to yourself – Reeses peanut butter cups instead of the chocolate bar. The top of the cup is thinner so the marshmallow sinks into it, making a little gift of marshmallow-peanut butter-chocolate goodness for your mouth. Fabulous.

  14. AWESOME. This is the exact same thing we’re doing for our wedding in October since we’ll have a bonfire as well! I’ve been trying to figure out how to package them too… this is perfect…

  15. I love this idea and I plan to do it for my wedding. What size are the boxes to fit all of that?
