This detail shot of a bride Payal has now made it onto my top favorite wedding photos of all time. It was taken by David Zaveloff, a wedding photographer from Philadelphia with an very unique aesthetic. He calls it "vintage modern" and I call it dramatic as all get out. Check out some of his epic shots…

(Per usual, click on the pics to see more from each wedding shoot.)

Can't tell what I love more Erin's dress or Waiel's reaction.

David tells us that his entire philosophy is that it's a wedding and not a photo shoot. Says David, "I want my photos to reflect who you are and I want the work to show their great grandkids that those two old wrinkled people were once young and in love." Awwwwwww. (Subsequently "Awwwwwww" is exactly what I thought when I saw the photo above and below.)

Julie and Heather had one gorgeous fall farm wedding with both brides rocking gorgeous red tones.

My approach is about respect. Respect for the craft, respect for history, respect for the perpetuity of your images. I don't like to follow fads, using the same gear and techniques as everyone else. The method is about crafting images that are as ageless as your bond, images that hold their power and emotion long after trends have come and gone. --David Zaveloff

Btw, it's totally worth clicking on this photo to see more shots of that awesome dress.

How much to do I love this shot? So much — that unique wedding dress, the dual juggling, the bride's laugh. It's all wedding day photo magic.

I blend in and avoid directing the action, capturing splendor and authenticity as they happen. I truly believe that there is beauty in the unscripted, that the truth of the moment is lost when the photographer intervenes. --David Zaveloff

Just had to throw in another photo from Payal and Nathan's wedding, I love it so much.

I went through blog post after blog post of his, tracking down my favorite shots from his offbeat wedings and one thing because very obvious… If you want true-to-the-moment wedding photos that are both timeless and stunning just follow this one simple step: 1. click here.
