The offbeatest wedding rings EVAR!

If you didn't already know, Megan and I share the Offbeat LA Office, aka her couch. While slaving away in the office one day I heard her say, "Woweewowowza." I knew I had to take a peak at what she was viewing. And woweewowowza was right. These Alex and Chloe Inverted Diamond Rings are the most bad ass wedding rings I have ever seen! I mean c'mon black bands, inverted diamonds... You can't get more offbeat that that. Plus you can really fuck someone up with it if you want. These are so modern, sleek and totally unconventional. I love it! They also have square shaped rings.
And if those are a little extravagant and flashy for your tastes they do have some more subtle choices like the Anneau Solitaire. It is a simple sterling silver band with one inverted white diamond. They also offer black diamonds and champagne diamonds, with sterling silver or oxidized silver bands. If you want to mix and match different colored rings or just bulk up on one color, these are skinny enough to stack, at only one and a half millimeters wide. Do it!
Don't these just blow your mind? Click here to see the entire collection!

These are awesome looking, BUT, I need to mention (as a geology student) that there's a reason why diamonds traditionally are set point-down: that's the weakest part. One little hit to the point will shatter the whole thing, so if you're going to buy one, be careful with it! A lot of people think that diamonds can't shatter because they're the hardest material. Hardness actually just means how easy it is to scratch its surface with another material, it has nothing to do with breakability, and diamonds are actually rather breakable. I know, I've had two diamonds chip, the first because it was lower-quality, and the second because the edge got hit forcefully.
Just something to be aware of if you're going to get one of these!

You guys are my lifesaver! I've been working for days with a friend to find the perfect "engagement ring" for her boyfriend (hell yeah, she's proposing!), and nothing seemed right! Then this awesome article comes along. As soon as my friend saw the "BAUHAUS RING W/ THREE INVERTED BLACK DIAMONDS", she started jumping up & down, screaming "HOOOOMIGOD THAT'S IT! THAT'S THE RING!"
So, thanks OBB. You guys freakin' rock.

OMG! That is exactly what I've been looking for and had no idea! I've been looking for the perfect ring for like 3 years.

Hmm, "offbeatest"? I thought my wedding wasn't a competition, and that I shouldn't worry about being more offbeat and should focus on being me?
Love the ring, just feel the title doesn't jive with OBB's values.

While I appreciate how seriously you take the non-competitive values of Offbeat Bride, I like to think a little Simpsons-esque colloquial bling-ogling language between friends isn't going to single-handedly tear down OBB's mission.
Also, "Just me" — no need to hide behind an anonymous handle. We can be civil here.

Funny, I was just called out on my blog for using "creative language". Glad to see you standing up for it. Sometimes made up words make the world a happier place

We figured just by the mere fact that "offbeatest" isn't even a word that the silliness factor would be obvious. Usually when we say something like "it's the coolest thing EVAR" or "this is the most awesome thing we've ever seen," we're pretty much assuming that our readers will just realize that we're trying to convey our excitement and not take these expressions at face value.

I agree with "just me" —
But more than that, I don't think it's fair to pick on someone for being anonymous online. I know I don't want my co-workers googling me & finding out what websites I read.
Ariel said
Jeez, no need to use your full legal name or anything — first names or OBT handles are just fine. The issue is commenting with integrity so that we can have a decent conversation. That said, I'm certainly not picking on anyone. Our comment policy is pretty clear about anonymous critical comments. Nothing new there.

I just thought I would add my two-cents in…
I think Ariel has made it clear that your wedding isn't suppose to be a competition… in saying that having a title that says "The Offbeatest" isn't stating any where that your wedding is competition or that if you don't get one of these rings you are some how "less offbeat". I think the title matches perfectly with the rings that are show cased seeing as you couldn't go to your neighbor-hood Peoples or what have you and get one of these rings or anything close to them.
I think people need too stop reading into everything and perhaps getting a online name that actual suits you would be more fitting… everyone is just being them.

While I don't dig these rings so much, I love there necklaces and other bobbles that were featured on polyvore this week.

We just liked the rings.

I *heart* that square ring. Not as a wedding ring: we have gold ones for now but if we decide they're too soft we may go for tungsten (we need tungsten to live….tuuunnnggsstteennn) in a few years.
I just don't think I could wear something that pointy every day considering my job and how easily I manage to snag clothes and such WITHOUT pointy bling to help.
BUT. I love them anyway and that square one may be my gift to myself, to wear often but not every day.

Crap! $3,600! I mean I understand why, but crap!
Maybe the diamond-less bauhaus ring would be a better choice…

The ring with the inverted black diamonds on an oxidized band is so bad-a$$ed! Thanks for sharing this!

I've seen a lot of rings in my lifetime… and nothing like these. They're great. Thanks, OBB!

I love the black band! I think it is just beautiful. Pointy side up on a diamond would be bad for me…since I tend to WHAP myself in the face now and again (dont ask…haha) …but the black band is very inspiring ^_^

Just wait 'til you see mine! hehe

I am coveting a rose gold ring with a blue, rose cut diamond (because I love copper colored metals… but one really wouldn't want to wear a copper ring a lot of the time ^^). We've also talked about a gorgeous textured sterling silver band for him that's been oxidized so it looks like a silver tree branch.
Caroline said
I was really, really into these rings for a long time, but I heard that because they're oxidized silver they show wear really poorly. That combined with what Heather said about the stones makes me glad I didn't go with it.

I'm wearing a black tungsten band; these are right up my alley. Really cool.

I think these are unique and all but I feel like the beauty of the diamond is lost? Since it's backwards? Not my thing, but they are pretty cool!!
