She just so happens to be wearing an AllSaints dress, specifically their now-discontinued Parachute Long Dress in washed black. I freakin' LOVE AllSaints.

This dreamy mess of fabric is inspired by an original wartime parachute. It consists of ten meters of double-layered cotton, yet it manages to appear flowy and lightweight.

The best part of the Parachute dress is that each individual dress comes with fifteen ties that enable the wearer to bunch, twist and tie the fabric in a variety of different ways in order to make their own unique silhouette. In other words, no two dresses are alike ladies!

Sure, to the ordinary eye it just looks like a jumble of fabric but on the right person with the right shoes and hair, it can be stunning. Not to mention it also comes in a short white version for you pseudo-traditional types!

  1. My Italian grandmother and Cajun grandfather met in Italy during WWI where he was stationed and they were married shortly after the war ended in Rome. There wasn’t any material in the city for a dress so my great-grandmother stitched my grandmother a wedding dress made out of the parachute that saved my grandfather’s life when he had to eject out of his plane during battle! It’s nice to see she wasn’t the only one with that idea!

  2. Thanks! When I got married in March, we hung up all three generations (grandma, me and mom) of wedding dresses and had our photographer take a portrait. My mom cried of course.

  3. OMG, I LOVE this!! Thank you so much for sharing!! Now the big question.. can I afford it?!

  4. That dress is all kinds of awesome!!!

I, too, would LOVE to see pics or read the full story of the parachute dress mentioned by the above poster! That is awesome – getting married in an actual parachute, which is a serious parachute from a REAL war, which actually SAVED the life of your husband? ROCK ON!!!
