Custom XKCD wedding dice

Favor Porn By on April 15, 2010 15

Remember the first time I showed you guys the perfect gamer geek wedding favor. Well OBT member nibo took the idea of customized wedding dice and made it even geekier! How do you ask? By the addition of XKCD!

Nibo explains,

"We wanted some d6s and d10s for our gamer friends who are coming to the wedding. We're big nerds and since the wedding is game-themed anyway we thought it'd be fun. The image was supposed to be the twirling girl from XKCD 162."

And now, gaze upon the awesomeness of XKCD d6s and d10s...

Yes. Yes. A million times yes. Apparently these were custom made by Chessex. Of which nibo said, "Chessex did an amazing job, didn't charge an arm and a leg and were totally able to take the image I gave them and turn it into my dice." So check them out if you want to customize your own nerdiest awesomest wedding favors EVAR!

Wow. How completely and totally awesome. I love it! It's this kind of post that both makes me say "Waah, our wedding clearly wasn't geeky enough, because I didn't think of this!" and say "I am *so very happy* that someone, somewhere is doing this."

What color is that, if you don't mind?

    • These are done in Scarab Royal Blue. I got them yesterday in the mail and they're gorgeous! I'd say even better in real life than in the picture.

  • Wow. I almost made XKCD wedding invites, but made something a little shinier instead. (Literally and figuratively.)

These are awesome; we had been talking about doing dice, but custom dice are EVEN COOLER.

I am so in love with this idea, I can't even begin to describe it. Those dice look amazing!

My friends are always losing their D6's, D10's, and D20's, so this would be an awesome favor idea… Hmmm…. Cogs are turning.

Offbeat Bride, you've done it again!

  • I love seeing all these people use Chessex for their wedding favors! Instead of custom dice, we did dice bags. We filled them with assorted dice from their dice by the pound. And because we were really set on the idea, but couldn't really afford it, they sold us the pounds for 50% off! Officially my favorite company ever :-)

I looooove this idea! On their website, I only see the D6's as an option for the custom dice, though. How did you get them to do the D10's and did they offer other sizes as well?
