Liz and Austin's steampunked wedding cake. The metallic gears, doors, rivets, and panels were all made of fondant and were entirely edible. This is probably the baddest-ass wedding cake you will ever see. Respect. Best part: the cake tasted just as decadent as it looked! I had a slice of the lemon layer after photographing it.

Hi Ariel, I commented a few hours ago and my comment seems to have disappeared… did you think it was offensive because I said steam punk is not my piece of cake? I added immediately after that although that fact, I thought it was a greàt cake and that they were either very lucky people to have had a cake like this made, or they are very crafty themselves!

Cake was made by Mike's Amazing Cakes in Seattle. I am the photographer! And…I got to eat some of it, and wow, it looked and tasted equally awesome, whether you are a steampunk fan or just appreciate food art.

Holy Sh*t!!!! I mean, holy cow, WOW! We are in the middle of planning our own steampunk wedding for next summer and could only hope for something half this amazing! I just need to find a artist in Denver with some of this talent!!!

Megan – if you haven't found it yet, check out cakewrecks.blogspot.com. She mainly focuses on hilarious mishaps in cake-dom, but every sunday is Sunday Sweets – where she showcases awesomely done cakes, and recently the lady who runs the blog went on a tour, and I believe did a stop in Denver. At each stop local artistic bakeries showed there stuff, and she mentions them by name… Check it out for some local people if you need a good place to start, and best of luck! – Cheers,

The bride, Pacific Northwest artist and costumer Liz Spain, designed and created her own wedding jewelery, dress and the most of the men's clothes and accessories.
