Veggie wedding heels for daring-but-cruelty-free brides

Cork Tattoo Wedge PumpOoh, it's time for another edition of Foot Fetish, where-in I inflict my questionably loud taste in special occasion footwear uponst my willing offbeat victims!

This week, I'm focusing on veggie-friendly heels. From as best as I can tell, all these shoes are all made with non-animal products — most of them are rubber, synthetic, or satin uppers with man-made soles and insoles. The advantage of man-made materials? Yes they're nicer to our animal friends, but they're often also cheaper than leather. The disadvantage? Sometimes quality ain't forever-wear awesome — but that's the joy of wedding shoes: hopefully you only need to wear 'em once!

So, without further ado, let's dive into some crazy/fabulous cruelty-free wedding footwear. As always, click on the shoe picture to view more information, as you imagine these fabulous-but-animal-friendly beauties peeking out from under the hem of your wedding dress:

Vivienne Westwood - Anglomania + Melissa Lady Dragon (Metal White) - Footwear

rsvp - Quinne (Cushioned by Foot Petals) (Silver Satin) - Footwear

Striped Pump with Satin Bow

Polka Dot Peep Toe Pump

Just a tip…I used to sell shoes, and the polka dot shoes? Super cute, but beware – they also run verrrry small. If you are ordering these online, ordering two sizes larger than what you think you wear is a pretty safe bet.

Oh…I'm so glad you posted those Vivienne Westwood's with the hearts. I just got an email that she has a new shoe in that line with a wax stamp design on the front and their red and black and just oozing offbeat goodness….

Also, I'm madly in love with Mohop shoes (though I don't own a pair…yet…) They are also totally vegan and eco-sourced and so versatile that they'd be perfect with pretty much anything. So here's the link on those as well…

Hope these help some other OBBs as well!

Oops…sorry… I guess technically the brand on those top shoes is Melissa. Vivienne Westwood is the line of the shoes. My bad. :)

Man those styles are adorable! I totally *heart* the tattoo ones. So a few things to know about synthetic shoes. Just because it is plastic or cloth does NOT make it a vegan shoe. Make sure they are using water based glues to put the shoe together (otherwise the industry standard is an animal based glue) . Of course this only is a factor if you are vegan! The inside of vegan shoes can be cleaned with a cotton ball with a dab of tea tree oil on it. It kills the bacteria and keeps the shoes lasting longer.
