"Wedding porn" is what we call photos of real people's weddings on offbeat bride. You can read about my use of the term "porn" over here: http://offbeatbride.com/2008/10/why-wedding-porn

"Sponsored wedding porn" is what we call photos of real people's weddings that have been submitted by advertisers. (That's also why there's a big ad disclaimer at the top of this page that begins "This business has paid a fee to be listed on offbeatbride.com...") You can read more about how advertising works on Offbeat Bride over here: http://offbeatbride.com/pr

We are all just a touch guilty about traveling by plane but we also can do our part by offsetting the carbon emissions when we book a flight. Here's a link for more information http://tinyurl.com/ya9kcgc .
The only way to see the world is to travel and planes won't be going away. Whether personal life or business, it would be silly to limit oneself to a particular state especially when they have family planted everywhere else.

I may not fly very much but when I do, I make sure I do what I can by giving a bit extra with the use of this emissions program airlines are now starting to provide for the eco-conscious individuals.

Every little bit helps in some way.

I absolutely agree. Candids are great and when people don't see a camera pointed at them, they are themselves. I strive to be as unobtrusive as possible through out the day in order to capture these moments of pure bliss and emotion. =)

Fair dos, the dresses in these 'trash the dress' shoots don't actually appear to be getting trashed - but what about travel as a green issue? IMHO office recycling should be a given for any company, and online proofs seem to be increasingly the norm for practical and economic reasons (or at least that seems to be true here in the UK), but any green advantages to these would quickly be wiped out by cross country flights. I would have thought that working locally would an obvious green move.

While I've pretty extensively discussed my opinions on Trash the Dress, I respect that it's up to each bride to have her own opinion about it.

Also, see Angela's response about the issue below.

The whole 'Trash the Dress' lingo leaves a lot to the imagination of the bride in thinking the dress will actually be trashed. There's been a whole bunch of hype in mistreating gowns and while there are more people who don't care what happens to their dresses, I take great care when a bride wants to do such a session and we don't wind up destroying the dress or getting it really dirty for that matter. Bringing things like a white cloth is useful when the bride leans against something or lays down in a dirty area and its laid down and tucked under the dress once she's in place.

Trashing the Dress is simply putting the dress on again and getting more creative with the shots. She's spent so much money on the dress, it's worth putting on twice and having some extra fun with it!
