Collect and share your wedding inspiration with Snipi
You know that wedding file you have on your computer desktop that's a tangled hodgepodge of random inspirational photos, ideas, and links? (Mine was labeled "wedding crap.") Well, Snipi helps you bring order to that online inspiration chaos.
With Snipi, you can create a wedding inspiration stream by dragging and dropping products, photos, and videos you find interesting into a convenient web browsing tool. Snipi not only saves the snippet, but it also automatically gathers the information (descriptions, prices, website of origin, etc.) and adds it to your collection. I gave it a try with some of the links from my old "wedding crap" folder … and it's awesome! It's like a living inspiration board.
Ooh, but then it got cooler — you can share your Snipi stream with people (your fiance, bridesmaids, mother-in-law, etc.) using a custom URL, or people can subscribe to your stream using RSS. You can also easily share the items via Facebook, Twitter, or your WordPress blog without leaving the original website where you found the inspiration.
Oh and by the way… there's an iPhone app too.
And also… it's free.
So do yourself a solid and head over to Snipi and sign up — you can get all your wedding inspiration organized and shared within minutes!
(Oh and PS: Leave us a link to your Snipi stream in the comments — we wanna peek at your inspiration.)

I don't know what i'm doing wrong. I can't figure this out. When I go to flickr and try to add my already saved photos my "add to bookmarks" on Safari won't let me add to an existing bookmark, only to the bar or menu itself. Any help?

I have a question — your FAQ says your information can be privately displayed, and is also never shared, sold or rented. So how do you guys make money? is it a Google/Facebook model of small targeted advertising (though those companies' ability to target advertising to me makes me a little nervous too) or something else? Basically, I'm suspicious of any aggregator that isn't my own mouse-clicky fingers putting stuff in folders on my harddrive, until it's proven not to be a potential hazard to my identity/information.

We appreciate your concern and hope our terms clearly define what it is we will and wont do. As they state – we will NEVER share, sell or rent anyone's personally identifiable information.
First, we are a privately funded company and do not have to be profitable right away. However, we are generating revenue from price comparison information and retailer sponsorships (both of which generate revenue for us, today). We will be including an advertising component to the site in the coming months and we will further be providing advanced features to premium subscribers (monthly/annual fee).
While there are a lot of different revenue sources and opportunities in our pipeline – none of them compromise your personal privacy or information.
If you have any other concerns, you can always email us at support [at] snipi.com. We'd be happy to discuss further.

I spent a good 6 hours putting things in my Snipi.. too bad you can't drag images from your desktop to this app! I had so many images saved, and I had forgotten where I found them originally! I found the important ones, though.

This is a great option for all us digital fanatics, wish I had found this earlier! I did have issues with the sentimental older generation in my families not liking this new digital age as much though. Some were even slightly insulted that I registered only for an online honeymoon registry (what will I do without wedding gifts? omg). To make amends, I used an old bound journal I found and filled it with my favorite snipits from bridal magazines to give them something to look at. It's more like a living scrapbook than anything else because it keeps changing as things develop! It will be great for my children in the future, and made it very easy to carry around to vendors, etc too. This Snipi idea would be absolutely fantastic if they could allow you to print off scrapbook type pages from your images to make a scrapbook with.

FYI, somehow my Snipi account started coming up really high in a Google search for my first and last name, even though I set my streams to private, and my user name was my first name only.
While I love planning my wedding, professionally I don't want the whole world knowing that I have a stream on Snipi called Wedding Inspiration before they even come across my LinkedIn profile.
When I got them on the phone they were very nice about deleting my account.
