These recent submissions to the Offbeat Bride photo pool from Steve Koo photography make it clear that if you want no dancing at your reception, bowling may be your solution. Also, the lighting at bowling alleys is tres dramatique, oui?:

The shots remind me of this amazing series from Melissa's Idaho wedding last year by AMB Photo Company:

We're bowling for our reception as well! And, honestly, I'm looking to the photos more than anything :-) We decided to go the bowling route after we couldn't compromise on reception options. All we wanted was for all our guests to have a ton of fun and have to pay for their own alcohol :-) Bowling was the perfect solution!

Who cares if someone else has done it, Alison? Bowling receptions freaking rock! I had such a good time at my reception. :D

We're going bowling for our rehearsal dinner. It's such a fun idea; people can migle, dance if they want to, and bowl at the same time. All-around good experience.

My H2B hates bowling so we're doing this for the bach'lette party!! In cocktail dresses! With girly drinks! I'm so gonna fall on my ass!

[...] was also excited to have Claire and Bill's bowling-alley wedding featured on Offbeat Bride. I recently discovered Offbeat Bride thanks to my fiancee, and I'll definitely be adding them [...]

As an alternative, I just thought of renting our a roller skating rink. In my neck of the woods, Santa Cruz, CA, I have heard of 2 hour parties for only around $150 at the local rink…

I'm renting out a vintage bowling alley for our reception also. We are not big dancers and love bowling. We are still having a DJ, but instead of first dance we are doing a first bowl! We are also providing socks as a favor! SWEET! Oh yeah, me and FH are giving each other balls for our wedding gift.

How can he hate bowling? It's funnest funniest pass time in the history of American pass times!! I do think it'll be a great bach'lette (that sounds so cute) party… you will have to post photos!! :)

We had a bowling reception, and everyone had a blast! My hubby, and several others, thought it was cute and funny the I wore bowling shoes with my non-traditional dress.

I hope you have a great time.
