We all know I'm a sucker for a colorful wedding, but my eyes almost fell out of my skull when Zahra emailed me about Anya's full-spectrum Australian rainbow wedding … the rainbow dress! The rainbow ribbon veil! The rainbow ribbon-flower bouquet! The RAINBOW EVERYTHING! Of course, it should surprise no-one that Anya runs a website called RainbowHairColor.com.

And now, who wants a ton more pictures, courtesy of Australia's Wildberry Design & Studio?
Behold, the ribbon veil:

Behold, the kissing of the hottie groom:

Behold, the bouquet made from rainbow ribbons:

The bouquet, in case you were wondering, was made by the bride's mum and her friends. Here's a little video of them working on it:
Behold, more kissing:

Behold, rainbow frolicking!

Honestly, I am usually not a "color" person. I like some earth tones with some blues. Period. Yet I LOVE how this turned out! The pictures are just so dramatic, happy, and beautiful! And was that a VW bus in the background of the flower-pic? Yup, I am officially in love with this wedding!

PS: If possible, can we get more info on the dress? I went to the other sites, but no info there either. It's just too stunning to not have a story!

Beautiful wedding!! I was thinking of how to add rainbow to my hawaiian/costume themed wedding next month and looking at your wedding gave me some great Ideas!! I got a question though… did you just add tulle in rainbow colors to an original wedding gown? and for the rainbow veil Im guessing the ribbons are attached to a comb ? congrats to the couple!!

Thank you so much for all the comments!
In answer to the question about how the dress was made. I had a friend who is a burlesque dancer and she recommended her friend who is a wedding dress maker by day and a burlesque costume maker by night!
We met up and when i said "rainbow dress" she was not so sure. But after showing her my drawings of what i had in mind and talking my ideas through she was sold and totally pumped about it!
She made the it all from scratch, and had a hard time finding all the colours of netting i wanted. But she blew me way with the result!
The body was all boned and a proper corset (no bra needed!) and the back laced up. The inside was all silk so not scratchiness from the netting.
When we first put the rainbow colours against the dress we decided that it very bright and didn't blend in with the dress to well and so came up with the idea of using a white piece over netting it to tone the colours down and help it blend into the rest of the dress better. I think that's what really helped to pull the colours together!
And yes the veil is simply ribbons tied to a slide comb. Simple and easy!
Also the parasol im carrying was painted by both of us in Perth where where got engaged!
And the parasols carried by the bridesmaids where painted by my best friend, Racheal De La Mare (Maid of Honor) and I and Davids Dad did Chinese characters on them. One parasol said: 'God bless this marriage,' another said: 'Grace and Prosperity,' and the third said: 'Together Forever.'
Thanks again for all the lovely comments if you have another question just ask!

Hi, I'm 'Mother of the Bride' Thank you all for your kind comments.
You don't have to spend a fortune to get this amazing look. I think Anya spent less on her dress than if she'd gone to a bridal shop.
The bouquet was hand made by myself, and my friends, it was a laugh, we honestly had no idea how it was going to work. We googled 'ribbon flowers' and took it from there.
The beach and park were decorated by ribbons.
When Anya told me about the rainbow theme, and she was having the dress made in Sydney, and we made the bouquet in the UK, without even seeing the dress – I must admit, I thought that it could all look like an accident in a paint factory!
But, she pulled it off, and more than!
YOU can have the wedding you want! Just don't skimp on the photography, get the best you can afford, it's all you will have to remember the effort put into the day.
Oh, that and your wonderful husband!!

Hi I am the photographer from this fab wedding!
When I was 1st asked by the brides mum to photograph her daughters wedding and it was a "rainbow" theme..I thought..ok interesting and didnt know what to expect. But I have done over 1500 weddings and this wedding would have to be way up on my top favs ever. It was so simple (in a beautiful way). It just goes to show that you dont need a huge budget to carry off such a wonderful and unique wedding day. As you might have seen the images we I also took the day after which we nearly got rained out!! I think I will find it truely hard to come across another wedding that could even come close to it…but if anyone else is thinking of doing something simular…GO FOR IT!!! and have fun!
