The Offbeat Bride: Chantal, stay-at-home mommy (aka CeCe on the OBT)
Her Offbeat Partner: Kirk, customer service representative
Location & date of wedding: Shore Side Lake Nipissing, North Bay, ON — August 5th, 2008
What made our wedding offbeat: Our wedding was offbeat for a few reasons…
First our wedding was a BBQ on a Tuesday. We had an odd start time, a pink wedding dress and we grew our own wedding party — the flower girl and ring bearer were our kids. Our wedding was all under $1,500 for under 50 guests.
Oh and also the bride was pregnant!
Our biggest challenge: Two months prior to our wedding, Kirk left his job, but fortunately found new work within a week.
And rain! Our outdoor wedding had to become an indoor wedding with the help and kindness of strangers.
My favorite moment: We did rock paper scissors to see who would read their vows first.
My advice for other offbeat brides: I was told several times while planning the wedding that "things aren't done that way." But I loved each and every moment of MY wedding! I know Kirk was pleased with our wedding plans. And that's all that matters is that we had the wedding of our dreams.

The bride looks radiant in that pink dress. And it's so soft and yummy looking…maybe I just need to eat breakfast, but it makes me think of cotton candy

If the bride isn't the epitome of feminine beauty, well I don't know what is

I hate it when people say, "Things just aren't done that way"…. It is probably my biggest pet peeve in the world!
I love how the bridesmaids dresses are all patterned instead of being solid colors…. I just think that adds an element of fun to any wedding!

Actually, in the last photo she doesn't look pregnant at all because of the wind!
Super cute flowers and polka dot theme.

Also, I love how the bride is wearing a rosary as a bracelet — that's wonderful!

I bought the dress on ebay. I bought a white lace gown and the pink chiffon dress from a seller from Thailand. I tried looking for her link but I can't find it. I bought the dress about (a lil' less than) two months before the wedding. I paid under $30 with the shipping charge.
