Announcing the birth of our sister site: Offbeat Mama!

Lighter posting from me this week
Posted by Ariel · Announcements

5 May 2009

Hey, ladies! I got back at midnight last night after being in LA for several days pitching the Offbeat Bride tv show to networks. Now I'm diving into an insane week of work … so posting will be lighter from me this week as I try to get caught up. My beloved Offbeat Intern Megan will be keeping y'all entertained with fresh Real Offbeat Weddings, though … so never fear!

Well … are you gonna tell us how it went?

Hmm, is it still offbeat if it's on TV? And is your wedding really not a contest if the best and most photogenic ones are going to get cameras to show up?

Seriously, though, I'm for any antithesis of "Bridezillas" or "Platinum Weddings" getting made into a show. (Although "My Big Redneck Wedding" on CMT may qualify.)

And yes, if you can spill any details, please let us know how it went! Wow. Getting a TV show… even being able to pitch one, what a breakthrough!

That would be the best wedding show ever. Most of them suck right now. :( between "say yes to the dress" ( a little black on the seams? how revolutionary!) and Bridezillas (need I say more?) the tv wedding market needs a little spice.

Have you seen a series called 'Don't Tell The Bride' its on UK terrestrial TV – you can find it here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0089hv7
Not so much related but an interesting idea, get some (a lot of) money but no involvement from the bride in the wedding planning – interesting turn table on the 'traditional' role

Don't know where i'm going with that, call it random information… :)
