The Offbeat Bride: Andrea, District Credit Manager (aka Drea on the OBT).
Her Offbeat Partner: Brian, Medical Collector
Location & date of wedding: Bartlett Hills Golf Course, Bartlett, Illinois — October 10, 2008.
What made our wedding offbeat: We did everything ourselves and planned ahead just right!
We ordered our vases from Ebay and made the centerpieces from Hobby Lobby and Michael's. I made my own bouquet from flowers I bought at Whole Foods. We made our own favors by ordering satin bags with our names on it, then filling them with incense that were black and red. Our cake was black and had Chucky and Tiffany as our cake topper (which we made) and everything fell nicely into place!
Brian gave his groomsmen throwing knives as their gifts and I gave my girls bracelets with their nicknames on them and black, personalized satin purses. (Whew!)
Our biggest challenge: Our biggest challenge was finding the time for all our projects! From center pieces, to ordering table clothes, to making our own invites, cake topper, mad maids bouquets, favors… what else?… ordering non stop from Ebay and Etsy! And putting it all together, while trying our best to not trash our apartment!
My favorite moment:
My favorite moment was when we had our first dance. We took dance classes to learn how to waltz, but forget almost everything we learned, so we just did the box step the whole time… he also dipped me at the end and that was perfect.
My advice for other offbeat brides:
My advice would definitely be to plan ahead! if you think it's too early to start planning, it's not! The whole process may be stressful, but I guaranty you, it will go by so quick! I was sober at my wedding, and nearly forget everything that happened, it went so fast!
Care to share a few vendor/shopping links?:
Let's see a few good sites I checked out were:
- twistedsisters.com
- Etsy (of course)
- Ebay
- the wedding channel (they have good attendent gifts)

I love the more mature flower girl. We had the same thing (I loved telling everyone I had a flower girl that could legally get drunk) though it was a hell of a time getting the photographers to include her in pictures.

This wedding just looks SO gorgeous. You poured a lot of time and effort into it and it shows in every single photo. I just adore the above photo with the bridesmaids. It may have gone by in a blur, but you sure looked like you had a lot of fun!

My wedding is coming up, and it will be very similar (as far as the colors goes). My garter is almost identical. My man will, also, be all in black with just a red tie. It's great to see how my wedding will look like before it actually happens
Great job!

WHERE did you get those bridesmaid's dresses? They'd make a perfect wedding dress for me…
