Rockabilly brides get all the best updos

Why is it that rockabilly brides always have the most fabulous wedding hair?

I'm totally in love with the 1940s 'do that Laurenn and her fabulous smile are rocking in this shot from Bonnie Berry Photography.

If you want to see the full series from Laurenn and Alex's Las Vegas wedding, head on over to Bonnie's blog. There's a gorgeous red dress, cupcakes, paper lanterns, cute kids and a smiley dog.

(Oh and thanks for the heads up, Kat!)

Sorry to toot my own horn so much, but I have been reading Offbeat Bride for a while now, and it was startling to see my own face up there! Glad I could share my pics with y'all!

OH! AND! We are in Vegas, not Austin – Bonnie is in Austin, but she flew out to shoot the wedding. And, if you are looking for retro hair? Lety at Curl Up and Dye is the BEST!

Wow! This is so exciting! Two of your readers commented on my blog and said they found Laurenn's photos on offbeat bride so I came by to check it out. Thanks so much for posting the link. I didn't know about this site and now I will be a devoted reader. I am now an old married lady but was once an offbeat bride myself. : ) Bonnie

And for those of you who cannot get enough of Laurenn and Alex's story or who want to see the hairdo in its infancy, feel free to check out more of their story here:

I love these pictures! It's great to see a groom who looks truly happy. In so many pics, the guy seems to be just putting up with everything but with you two – there's obviously lots of love there!

Does anyone know a stylist in Brooklyn that would help me achieve a similar, retro hairdo for my wedding? Love it!

Oh, I LOVE this wedding! The clothes, hair, photos – all gorgeous. But what really strikes me is that the couple look joyous. I've seen a few rockabilly weddings, and sometimes it looks like the couples are trying a bit hard to appear in a particular way – put across a particular image – but these two are clearly just having the most wonderful day. The chemistry and friendship between them is palpable! And I adore that kiss photograph. A great photographer and a great couple!

Wow those pics are incredible! Who did your dress, it is fabulous! I'm getting married and 7-8-09 and am looking for a similar style. Any help/tips would be appreciated! Thanks and congrats to you!

Gina –
I got my dress off the rack at Macy's – it's a Calvin Klein, and I got it on sale!

Hi Lauren!
You and your husband are the cutest couple ever and your wedding looked like such a blast. My boyfriend and I are planning on getting married latter this year in Vegas. I wanted to see if you could recommend any cool, quirky, funky places in Vegas that would be great for a party or dinner. Any restaurants, bars, bakeries, photographers that you could recommenced would be such a help. We will both be out there in April for Viva Las Vegas and were hoping to check out a few places then. I've been having a hard time finding interesting places on-line, so I thought I would ask another "offbeat bride". Any suggestions you or any of the other girls might have would be greatly appreciated. I wish you and your new husband all the best. You are adorable!!!
