I take it to be very fine crewel embroidery in the Jacobean style on linen. The groom's tunic also appears to have fine embroidery and appliqued trim. I would be very interested to know if the bride did all of the needlework herself.

I been thinking of doing something totally different for my "renewal" because my first "wedding" was a horrible day... I was thinking of doing a "bracelet" as a ring because I wear so many rings and cant decide which one I would be happy with everyday of my life. I have been looking into really good and nice bracelets and there is so many beautiful choices..... so bracelets might be a good choice besides rings and anklets. Or even a really good necklace as well.Perhaps??

My husband and I eloped in Vegas (with the plan to still have a wedding). We didnt have rings at the time or anything else to exchange so we kissed each other hand instead of giving rings. I thought it was a nice idea instead of not leaving that part out.

Oh my God! This dress is exactly the kind of dress I'm looking for our wedding. If anyone knows where I can find a similar (or the same!) dress, please tell me!!! I'm a big fan of the anklet exchange too. We're still debating whether we'll do bracelets or anklets or something completely different. Amazing photos, by the way!

Years ago I saw a couple using a tattoo as a ring. They hold each others hands, while an image was tattooed on their hands so that it was half on the brides hand and the other half on the grooms. I though that showed such a commitment that no ring could ever symbolise anything similar.

I was the celebrant at this wedding and there's a few more pics on my site (idodioweddings.com.au)
It was amazing, so many special touches.
The ceremony had a mayan theme and Russ got a jewelled clasp for his dreadlocks and Daniela received an anklet.
They totally transformed their St Peters home into a love tent.
It really was one of the best weddings I've ever been to!
