Heptadecagram & Red_Lynx’s gorgeous Maryland wedding

May 7th, 2008 · Offbeat grooms, Wedding porn · 16 comments

I’m all a-twitter over the amazing photos and stories from the wedding of two members of the Offbeat Bride DC Wedding Co-op.

…The bride had a sword!

…The groom wooed her with a bowl of brownies he baked that morning!

They did all their flowers themselves!

…The bride’s entrance was one of the most dramatically beautiful I’ve ever seen.

…The location (Adelphi Mill) was insanely gorgeous!

Basically, you should just go read the groom’s incredibly sweet post about the wedding. I’m going to go lose myself in the photos again, myself…

Wow, what great visuals! It was fantastic to read about things from the groom’s perspective. I love the idea of writing a note for your beloved! Congratulations!

A bride with a sword, and a groom with a bowl - the ultimate in gender bending weddings. What a marvelous modern interpretation of sympolism to start a marriage. I love it!!

I loved his comments: because holyshitthatgirlhasaSWORD, I attempt to placate her with a bowl of brownies. Success! She takes the bait! Let’s go get married.

Adorable!! Also, brownies and swords FTW!

    But wait, there’s more!

The dress (Dupioni silk in ivory) was made entirely by Tara-the-bride’s mother, who is a seamstress. My hair and minimal makeup was done by me, hers was accomplished by a professional by the name of Ky Washington.

The rings are stainless steel. In five years, we will renew our vows with silver rings. And in another five years, white gold. And in another five years, platinum. And we intend to keep renewing our vows and upgrading our rings to show our growing value to each of us.

And-and-and, we’re pregnant! With little baby princess!
