I'm WAAAAY late i know but i clicked here from the A la Carte post, so maybe others will do the same. Word to the wise – we used Blurb for our parent albums and were less than thrilled with the final product. Not bummed, but less than thrilled. The print quality was just not what we were expecting. The "glossy" pages were not really glossy at all and the photos were darker, and a touch grainier than they had appeared in my files and in the making. I am NOT photo-savvy so maybe this is a problem with my pictures, not with blurb, but everything looked clear, bright and sweet when we created the albums and the finished product was… eh, ok. I mean, they're $100 for pretty much the nicest one, so you can't complain too much, but thought it worth putting out there. I'm looking for a different book maker for *our* album.

I was super thrilled with how incredibly easy and intuitive the making was, and the number of design options they give, it's really just the print quality i have issues with.

For what it's worth, I just received my first Blurb book, and hope it's just the first of many! My only complaint is that the cover printed a little dark and a little red, but otherwise, I couldn't be happier!

Considering all of the FREE advice and entertainment this blog provides me, I am happy to click on an ad or two if it means helping to keep the site going. And frankly, I think most readers here are able to make pretty informed decisions about our products we buy anyway.

Who cares if it's a sponsored link? It's an awesome product. I don't think Ariel would accept advertiser money from a company that she didn't actually want to write about or think was awesome. She's not that kind of girl.

&y, your comment totally confuses me. Offbeatbride.com is an advertiser-sponsored site and I'm totally transparent about that. The post is clearly marked as paid content — did you not see the word "Advertisement" before the post on the homepage?

I made a big announcement when I started running ads on this site. My rates and policies are linked from most pages. And Molly is right: the first thing you'll see in my advertiser FAQ is that I'm super picky about who I accept advertising from. I turn down about half the inquiries I receive, although I have no control over what shows up in my Google AdSense sidebars, which kinda bugs me.

I'm just not quite sure what the problem is here, other than the fact that you don't seem to understand how I run the site. If any of my regular readers have questions about advertising, feel free to ask! I ain't got no secrets.
