If you care about having people dance (more than a few songs) at your wedding:
Get a band or a DJ
If not, you can do the iPod thing…but it can be a lot more work than you realize, depending on the size of the venue.

Yeah, I have to say that I loooved having DJs at our wedding, but we're aging ravers and dancing was really REALLY important to us. For folks who aren't as dance-obsessed, an iPod can work fine for background music. Just make sure you bring a backup iPod in the case of technical issues, which always seem to happen.
